Compensation for you Part-Timers

It's your big day. You arrive fifteen minutes early, just like you're supposed to.

You've made all the preparations. You've checked out the company website.
You've made sure to know their mission statement, how long they've been in
business, the names of the CEO and Other Executive Staff, You've researched
the position you're applying for to know the average salary in your country
and in your specific region. You know what you want, and you know how you're
going to be paid, you know when you're going to be paid, and you know how much
you wish to negotiate for during your interview process.

You've done your homework.

What would happen if you didn't know how you were going to get paid, or how much,
or when, or in what fashion? Wouldn't you like to find out as fast as possible?
Would you even consider a job where you didn't know how, when, or how much you'd
be paid?

Most wouldn't. Who can blame you?

Often the most important aspect of a job for most people is the PAY.

Network marketing is no different - yet every day people join network marketing companies
without any concept of how they will get paid, how much they'll get paid, how often they'll
be paid, or even how their pay compares to OTHER network marketing companies.

But every company is different right? You can't compare each company right? The pay
is so different? The methods so varied?

False.

The attraction of MLM pay is the idea of a PASSIVE RECURRING income. If anyone is
not interested in that aspect of pay plans and is in Network Marketing - the person is
simply either married to the company, or unaware of this life changing potential in pay.

Note clearly that I have said PASSIVE RECURRING income, not simply recurring income.

Whether a company will pay passive recurring income depends strictly upon their particular
policies and procedures.  Compensation plans are never to be considered without the "contract."
That's exactly what it is, a contract - that YOU are subject to, whether you've read it..or not.

If your contract is configured correctly, you may legally be bound to "work" your business,
even while you're on VACATION.

What's the point of building big if you can't even take time off.

That's not passive recurring income.

Further, just like different jobs, different companies offer different pay rates in recurring income.

Take $10,000 per month in passive recurring income. In some companies, the number of people
required in a network marketing organization is infinite because the compensation plan does
not offer true passive recurring income. In most MLM companies, the average is about
1666-2500 active distributors in one's organization. The best I've seen is 400 active
distributors for $10,000 passive recurring income.

What's your number? How much work do you need to build the passive residual income you need?

Calculate and also know your competition - as well as if you can have a better job elsewhere.

The more people it takes the harder one has to work to achieve the goals set from the beginning...
and further, the part-time worker struggles longer to have a decent pay.

The priority should be to get a check in to the hands of your distributor organization as fast as possible.

Retail - The Meat of MLM

Would it be OK if I taught a little about Retailing?
Everybody knows commerce is about retail.
Everybody says they "want a cut."

If you don't know how central retail is to network marketing,
then you won't be able keep your business priorities straight.

However, if you pay attention to this article, then you will
understand the place of retail in MLM.

Retailing, Retailing... Retailing.

Upon hearing those words, you probably flinched and made mental excuses about "what else you can do" instead of read this article. Doing the dishes may have suddenly become more appealing. Vegging out and watching that youtube video about the duck and fish romance has the allure of your favorite blockbuster. Maybe you even just have an urge to look at your pay plan and remind yourself why you're focusing on recruiting people to join your business at the complete expense of retailing.

But WAIT a minute - is the structure of your compensation plan configured so that you find it more beneficial to recruit people in place of retailing?  Ever think "there's no money in retailing, rather in building my team"?

Let's be careful. At the end of the day, one of the major tenants of what network marketing is about centers around RETAIL.

To properly understanding network marketing, we must begin with DIRECT Selling.

Direct selling is the marketing and selling of products to consumers who are not present at permanently established retail outlets. If you think about the annual cub scout popcorn selling season or the much awaited girl scout cookie bonanza, then you are thinking about direct selling.  This is retail "off-location."

Now, consider a sales floor manager. Let us say that this manager's compensation is directly related to how well the sales employees entrusted to him sell. This same manager is responsible for selling as well. The better the sales employees do at selling, the better the manager's salary looks.  The manager, who is also selling, will receive compensation from the fruit of his own efforts at sales as well as a set compensation in addition based on the sales of his sales employees.

This type of structure is often found in the corporate world in retail locations from shoe stores to book stores etc.

In a nutshell, THAT is what REAL network marketing is: retailing by way of direct selling and also working with (and being compensated on and with) other people who also take up the opportunity to retail the company product.

Retail is the life blood of network marketing. That is how money is made. People (outside) the company using the products of the company is the sustaining "food" of any real and legitimate network marketing company.

HOWEVER, if an MLM runs primarily off of the moneys collected by the "business fee" or "signup cost" of new recruits: you have the infamous and feared "pyramid scheme."

Network Marketing is NOT a pyramid scheme, and a pyramid scheme is NOT network marketing.

A pyramid scheme is essentially a structured organization of persons arranged such that commissions are made simply on constantly internally recycled money - i.e. the joining of "business partners." There is no outside "Fresh Money" - all the money is made (and contributed) by persons within the "structured organization."

The Federal Trade Commission and Attorney Generals take this very seriously.

Creating customers/making retail sales it what causes any MLM to be a legally abiding company in the United States.

It is not a problem making commissions off of those who are in your "downline" - however, is that all you are about? And even more crucial, is that all your "company" is about?

Take a moment to think about what your sponsors and upline teach you and instruct you to do. Is it all about "team building" and "recruiting"? Then put on the breaks and get out.

What would be easier for you, me letting you continue what you're doing or informing you with truth about network marketing?

It is easier for ME to tell you the truth so that you are not in harms way and wasting your money.

It is easier for ME to teach you so that you are not in league with an illegal organization ... waiting to become roadkill either by way of the "company" failing once the pyramid scheme exhausts itself or the FTC & Attorney Generals come in with guns blazing.

Debbie A. Ballard has also has something to say in an article about how "A Lack of Retail Sales Can Destroy Your MLM Business."

The One Minute Presentation

Here's a tid bit from one of my Mentor's: Tom "Big Al" Schreiter

He provides excellent resources to all around, for free even.

Head over to Fortune Now and sign up for his free news letter and a host of other excellent tools and trainings.

Prospects instantly resist your efforts to set an appointment for a presentation.

Here is what they are thinking:

  • "You are trying to sell me something."

  • "I don't want to go to an opportunity meeting. I don't know if it will be a waste of my time."

  • "You are trying to get your high-pressure sponsor to sell me something."

  • "I am safe if I don't go on that conference call where they will convince me to join some scheme."

  • "I don't want to spend money on anything."

  • "You will embarrass me if I decide not to buy or join your business."

  • "If I am not interested, you will continue to follow-up and harass me until I am disgusted."

Because your prospects have these thoughts, you must be a good salesman to set an appointment for a presentation. And, you must be willing to receive lots of rejection! But most networkers don't want to be a manipulative salesman. They just want to tell prospects about their program. And we all hate rejection!

Bottom Line:

When you are talking to a prospect, think about this:

Is the prospect leaning forward, looking forward to your presentation?

Or is your prospect leaning back, putting up defenses, and trying to avoid a presentation?

In most cases, prospects are leaning back. This is uncomfortable for you . . . and the prospect.

So instead of manipulating prospects or trying to sell prospects, let's take an entirely different approach.

We are going to:

1. Relax the prospect.

2. Get the prospect to lean forward, anxious to hear our presentation.

And we are going to do this by learning TWO simple sentences that will change your life.

All you have to do is say these two simple sentences and almost 100% of your prospects will ask you for a presentation . . . with no rejection.

1. "I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take an entire minute."

2. "When could you set aside a whole minute?"

That's it!

When you say these two simple sentences:

1. "I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take an entire minute.

2. "When could you set aside a whole minute?"

How will your prospect react?

Your prospect will say:

"How about right now?"

Almost 100% of the time, your prospect will lean forward and anxiously await your presentation because you said these two simple sentences. Now, why will your prospects ask you for an immediate presentation?

Because:

1. They want to get it over with.

2. They think it will take longer than a minute to get rid of you, so why not listen now?

3. They are curious. They want to know, and they can learn everything in just one minute.

4. They don't have to go to an opportunity meeting and waste hours trying to find out what it is all about.

5. They don't have to sit on a long-distance telephone call for an hour, waiting to get all the details.

6. They feel safe. If the presentation is only one minute, there can't be enough time for a high-pressure sales pitch.

7. You are simply telling them the facts, not trying to sell or manipulate them.

8. All the pressure and tension are gone, as you are simply giving them the facts in one minute.

Pretty cool, eh?

By simply saying:

1. "I can give you a complete presentation, but it would take an entire minute."

2. "When could you set aside a whole minute?"

Almost every prospect you visit will say:

"How about right now?"

This is how you take stress, tension, and rejection out of your business. You simply say the right sentences and your prospects react entirely differently. Now your prospects will lean forward, anxious to hear your presentation. Well, getting an appointment for a presentation is easy once you know exactly what to say. Just say these two simple sentences. That's it.

But how are you going to be able to give an entire presentation in only one minute???
